OK... going into this, it seemed like a really redneck thing to do. I had just finished washing the interior of my boat, when it dawned on my that the bow was not pitched high enough to drain properly. I searched the house for some timber to use raise the bow, but had no such luck. Then I saw it in my garage... gee.. do yah think that would work?

So tell me... is this the dumbest thing you've ever seen, or an act of sheer genius? Either way, its got to be my greatest redneck moment in my life to date!!

crude, but effective comes to mind. Hey if it works, and the ram doesnt bleed off all of a sudden (it shouldnt) then all will be good.

I've used our engine hoist for a myriad of non-designed things. We use it to lift the front of our tractor all the time when we remove the belly mower or service something. Used it as a frame-puller to straighten out a bend bumper, too. There's all sorts of good uses for an engine hoist! ;)

So I take it you never bit a hole in the side of a can of beer while gulping all of its contents within 1 second:cool:

Were you sitting out there watching your handiwork while eating out of your matching cool whip bowls?

Or is a mutual fund is when you and your buddies are having fun on your boat?

You might be a redneck.

I vote genius as long as it is stable. By the way, is the guy still holding your beer when you thought of this?

I take the, whatever works aproach to, it is the end result not how you got there.

I think it is a simple solution to a problem, well done and I way to far north to be a redneck.

Ha looks like a good idea to me, as long as it's stable and safe.

A 3' long 2x4 would have been redneck. That's stable and safe and working very well.

Now go get another piece of fried armadillo and a bud light and relax.

Great idea. I just would not be getting underneath there without a secondary support though.
