Gas Octane requirement for Mercury Verado 275 hp

I recently bought a boat with a 2008 Mercury Verado 275 HP 4 Stroke on it. The manual calls for a minium of 89 octane fuel. All Marinas near my location offer 87 octane marine gas (no alcohol) or 93 octane (very expensive) I have been using 93 to be safe.. Should I be adding some kind of octane additive to be abole to use the 87 or is the 89 to 87 octane difference not a significant issue

You should be fine with 87. If octane was crucial there would be a warning sticker near your fill. Ethanol additive is terrible. Its a good thing your marina doesnt offer it. Cheers!
