J3042253 What year is this Johnson?

I was given this boat & motor but the motor is different than the mount ser.# & model. It was also given to the person I got it from & he was told that the motor might be a 100hp not what the mount says an 85. How can I find what the ser.# equates to? Thank you if you can help.

I don't know of any published list of Johnson serial numbers. But from my small collection of numbers, you have a 1970-ish motor.

The serial number is no indicator of horsepower, just a numerical list of how many motors they produced, starting from day one.
