'94 225 power tilt problem

Motor is 1994 Evinrude 225, model # E225TXERK Ser. #G03545264

Power tilt works down but not up.

Changed engine switch & relay. It worked twice, then same symptom - works down but not up. Swapped relays - same problem, so I am confident the problem is not the switch or the relay. Any ideas?

Check the limit switch. I had an intermittant problem then one day it stopped working al together. I bypassed the limit switch and it works great. (clean the relay contacts real well too).

Thanks very much for answering. I did clean the relay contacts well. Bypassing the limit switch makes a lot of sense. Can you tell me where it's located?
