Just bought this motor for my pontoon, has been in storage for years(fog and winterized) it looks new. runs strong untill 5000rpm then acts like it runs out of gas. pumping the bulb or choke makes no differance. floats are level, carbs clean, new fuel pump. new fuel lines... the two yellow wires on the stator show continuity instead of resistance.. does this sound like losing voltage at high speed. Low end is strong all the way to 5000. can run all day at 3000 with no problems..but after 3 seconds at 5000 it happends.
thanks in advance

Sounds like a fuel supply problem.New hoses on the carbs?New squeezie?Vent clogged(bugs in vent line).Ethanol destroyed a lot of hoses.A soft hose can be delaminated inside and colapsing under high RPM.
I bought a NEW Tempo and it was defective.
Get it started and replace the hose with a straight line hose and see how it runs.Make sure vent line is open.J
