My original trim motor had rusted through and would get stuck when left for more than a day or so.
I ordered and installed a new trim motor and I am having new problems from it. Once installed, the trim motor seemed to "O.K." for one cycle up and down. It was sluggish but it did go. I lifted it back up and topped off the fluid. It hesitates throughout the entire up and down process until it touches the trim rods. The trim rods will "not" compress allowing the motor to not lower all of the way down.
My only assumption is maybe there was some debris that got in the unit when changed causing a clog?
What would be the reason the trim rods will not lower?
