4.3 GL-B penta with 70 hrs
Problem: Out of nowhere engine will go to 500 rpms and start surging very bad, then completely shut off.
Previously, I would spray some carb cleaner in, and after a few minutes it would fire back up. But last weekend, it would not fire back-up. It cranks but will not turn over. 2 minutes prior boat was running very good, 45 mph 4500 rpms.
Plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, impeller are all new
Engine staying around 175*
Oil pressure=60psi at WOT
Battery tested good, 12.5v, 430 cranking amps
oil looks like new
I will check compression & timing.
What else?
