I took my 87 starcraft out for first time this weekend. I noticed right away it was taking water but not more than pump could handle. Brought it home and found a couple cracks in gel coat and sealed them. Took boat out again and was still leaking but very slow. Slow enough to stay out for the day, running pump every hour about two minutes. I think its leaking thru plug tube...is this replaceable? Could it becomming thru outdrive?

Any ideas would b appreciated,

Thanks,

J

check real good around your transom seal make sure the rubers not cracked or has any holes in it.. it also may be leaking around the edges of the seal...

thats where my old Johnson was leaking ta when I had it...

If it is the transom seal does that mean the whole outdrive needs to be removed to replace it.

Thanks,

not sure some split on top then have a slider in them some are solid all the way around wich means yes on those type.

on my old johnson it was a split with the slider in it..
