Whats between the engine and the transom?

This is probably a dumb question... but...
I'm getting ready to pull my 4.3 merc.
I already pulled my Alpha 1 drive.
According to all of the manuals, it appears that other than removing the misc connections (Wires, cables, fuel, etc..), the only thing physically holding the engine to the boat is the motor mounts, and there is nothing that connects the engine direcly to the transom assembly. Is this true?
I suppose it makes sense, since alignment of the engine is required after reassembly.
I just wanted to double check that there isn't anything holding the engine to the transom before I start pulling up the engine.

Welcome aboard! ;)

Remove the lag bolts (or whatever you have) holding the front mounts to the stringers - keep the front mounts attached to the engine when you pull it.

On the rear, there are two bolts that attach the bellhousing to the transom plate. When you remove them, take note of the various pieces, as you will need to reassemble them in the correct order.

Pretty easy actually.
