Will carbs interchange on 70hp johnson

I was given a 1985 70 HP johnson model # J70tlcos that has no carbs. Will the carbs off a 1987 johnson model
# J70tlcur work correctly and if not what carbs will I be able to use. Thanks Randy

Theres a differance in Cu In of the engines,the 85 is a 50 cu in and the 87 56.I would think there will be issues.If everything bolts up OK,you may find a major flooding problem as the jets on the 87 would likely be larger,you might be able to swap the jets .Go to the Bombardier website(BRP)look up the years and Hp of the engines and compare the jett sizes.I cant recall if they would actually interchange ,or bolt up without issues.Bottom line is the engines are different animals
