Since no one hear knows what control you have, all I can say is there is USUALLY a friction adjustment on MOST controls. Where yours is is impossible to say. I would suggest you take it back to your dealer since it's brand new and have them adjust it. I should not be necessary to hold it to prevent loosing rpm.
