I have a Volvo Penta 270 outdrive. My drive shaft bellow is leaking and am going to replace it. I'm getting water in my outdrive oil. And in my boat. I haven't taken it apart yet, and the manual doesn't say anything about a seal being in there. Is there one? Is it easy to replace w/o taking it further apart once I have it off? Does anyone have a part # or a particular name for it? And instructions on how to replace it? Is there anything else I should do while I'm at that point?

TIA,
Dan

Re: 270 outdrive ??

If your bellows are leaking change them. Volvo outdrives bellows are a whole lot easier to change then mercruiser. Its a snap just follow the manual. As for changeing the upper seals in the drive,if you have never done it before, you better let someone else do it. See for yourself in Clymer Volvo manual B770. I wouldnt do anything without it.
