Your images don't come up. Do you have the model number off the tag near the transom mount?

Here: I fixed it:

I'd say 1957 but I notice it has the 2 prong fuel line adaptor so it must have had the fuel pump conversion.

I don't know how you fixed it but thanks alot. The old man i got it from said it had the newer fuel pump conversion. I cannot find the model numer tag. He said he thought it was a 30 or 35 hp 1957. It is a electric start, the starter says 12j so I guess that means 12volt which should mean 1957. It's not getting fire but he gave me extra coils, condenser and points. I'll pull off the fly wheel and have a look see in a day or so. I got this for 100 bucks from some old man who had it in his barn for years and it sure is pretty.

Since it obviously has been repainted, it is anybody's guess what's inside.

If it's a 57, it's a 35hp, if I'm not mistaken. The 30 was only made in '56. But, who knows? You'll have to do some more investigation. Look for a round plug on the engine block. It may have the model number of your engine on it. Be aware that a lot of outboards from those days have a different powerhead on them than they did originally, so, you may have a different powerhead than the year of the rest of it.

Take some photos under the cowling and show us what you find.

1956 30hp, with fuel pump conversion. Silencer is missing. Turn that puller right side up, then give it heck. The flywheel is SUPPOSED to be "stuck" and takes macho pull to get it off. You will need Grade-8 bolts in the puller. When you put it back on, make sure the shaft and flywheel tapers are clean and dry, and use a torque wrench to tighten the nut to 60-65 foot-pounds. Do not ignore this advice!!!
