I was looking for any advise on reinstalling my bell housing and gimbal housing to my transom. I just finished replacing the transom and I really don't want to do it again. I've got a 1985 merc 470 with an alpha drive. I'll be installing a new gasket on the bell housing but is there any thing else I can do to seal it up. It seems like it rotted from water getting in from the anode bolts and around the other bolts holding the two pats together. I'm waiting for my bilge paint to dry so I can install the bell housing as soon as possible. Any and all advise is appreciated. Thanks
