Hi guys !
I've been lurking a while. You all have a great forum going here.

I've got a 1980 Alacraft Tri-hull. The deck has a few soft spot in it , and when I stand on the deck , water comes out of the two holes where the original pedistal seats were. I was expecting a recess in the deck (at the transom) that I could drop a bilge pump into , but when I got it all cleaned out there wasn't any access into the inner hull. Is this an odd design , or are most sealed like this ??

Should I incorporate a bilge in the inner hull when I replace the deck , or try to seal it up tight ??

Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks! ZLP

Sounds like my boat. There should be a drain hole into the bilge. Obviously water gets in there. I drilled a hole through the wall of the bilge into the hull and also through the stringer to get the water from that side. I think i have pics in my thread. I am rebuilding it so it was just to get the water out.

Thanks Wolf . Now that I'm registered I can view the pics and it's helpful beyond words.

My deck doesn't have the recessed bilge area , nor a drain plug for the inner hull. The only drain is at deck level. If water gets into the inner hull , it's there for good. Deck removal to begin in the am!!! There's gonna be some rank water in this thing:eek:

Rank water and a few pounds of water laden foam i am guessing have fun!! Mine luckily did not have much foam what it did have was in the bow mostly so it was not to bad.

I had a 1972 VIP tri Hull and the Hull was sealed. There was no way for the water to get out of the Hull and to the bilge. It was so fact that the water logged foam ate the stringer and the hull became so weak that we finally poked through in front of the passenger seat.
