how tightly do you secure the nut holding prop on

again, a question about my 15 hp Evinrude (1980-1981):
how tightly do you secure the slotted nut holding the prop on? it has a pin that goes through the shaft, so do you just finger tighten and then put the pin through?

Place the thrust bushing in the propeller and slide the assembly on.

Place the thrust washer on and tighten the nut finger tight.

Turn the nut to the next cotter pin hole and install the cotter pin.

Use a stainless steel cotter pin.

Triple Guard Grease on the shaft will make the job easier in the future.

Tighten until it starts to strip and back off 1/4 turn!!! Above post is the perfect solution, go with it:p
