Hey all-
i just purchased my first boat project a couple days ago--1978 Glastron SSV 177 and am in need of purchasing a new motor.
the boat came with a mercruiser 140--but they pulled off the carb, headers, etc to sell the,---so the current block and cylinders have a bit of rust to them.
i want to stay with the 140 because it seems like the outdrive and transom are in good shape and i am going to use this boat mainly as a fishing boat/water skiing...nothing too extreme.
any ideas on where i can get a good 140 for a good price.
ive been searching craigslist--but everythings 8 hours away, and ebay has a couple--but the sellers have no ratings so that seems kinda strange.
any ideas, suggestions, leads would help.
