I have a 2004 Regal 2200BR with thw 5.0 mercruiser and the alpha one outdrive. I just bought the boat a month ago and we have been out 2 times now. the 1st trip everything worked perfect. 2nd trip not so much fun. 1st thing the boat run perfect the first half of the day. 2md half is where my problems started 1st thing i started getting an alarm just every once in a while, then as the day went on I started getting a 2 beep alarm every 2 to 3 mins and when you pull it into neutral it dies. You can keep trying to crank it and throw it into gear and get it running (I know not the best practice but had to get back to the dock) and it will run fine. I still have a 2 beep alarm under 4k rpm's and it give me a steady alarm over 4k rpm's. I checked all the fluids and they are all good. I always keep a watch on my gauges and everything looked fine all day.
