Could someone tell me who made this engine and when. The model # is 217-586611 the serial # is 48-001438.
I am trying to find a new quick connect for the fuel line. The one I have started leaking where you connect the female end on the male end. I have been to 3 different places that repair engines and no one has the correct male end. The male end has threads on it to hold it in the housing then goes to a hose nipple.
Thanks Gary

Gary - This outboard motor is manufactured by Eska but could not find the year. Sorry bout that. Also, go to www.searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number. They might have the part there.

Where do the O rings go? There are none on the male end.

I'm not sure what may have changed on the newer game fishers but this is what the male fuel connector looked like in 1977

It's doubtful that it is the male connector that is causing the problem. It's probably the female connector, which does contain an O-ring to seal the connection.

Frankly, it's easier to buy a new female connector. The good news is that it's a standard Chrysler connector, available here on iboats or at your local marine shop. It'll be a lot cheaper at either place than it is on the Sears site.

theres got to be a O ring or something on the male end to seal the check ball, and I find it curious that this model 217-586611 part # 15 also includes #43 & #44

Coupling, includes #43, #44
Number:96122Substitution:26508Size:1.93L x 0.56W x 0.56HColor:SilverMaterial:Metal
according to the sears diagram there is no #43 or #44

I have already tried replacing the female with a Chrysler fitting. It did not fit. I was wondering about that Sears part coming with 43 and 44 also. The one in the picture doesn't look like mine. Mine almost looks like an air quick connect.
