I want to install a warning light on my console. Let me run my idea by you folks and see if it will work.

I have a 150 hp Merc XR6 on a 2003 Stratos 185. It currently has a warning beeper mfg by the Floyd Bell Co. It is rated at 5-15 vdc with a 10 ma to 50 ma range.

I want to quick connect into the leads off the beeper with a Floyd Bell light rated at 9-30 vdc ma range of 80 ma @ 9vdc 40 ma @ 30vdc. Will the warning system used on the merc engine power both of these warning devices?

thanks for your help

Re: Warning Light in Console

The warning system is a overheat sensor that grounds when the temp is too high. I would think it cvan handle that kind of current w/o issue.
