I have a 92 Lowe boat with a minn-kota 24v trolling motor which has a three prong plug. It has panel for the trolling motor plug and the tilt switch. It also has a three-way switch for Charge 12/24 and 12/24 Run with 12v in the center.
The wires for the 3-way switch have been cut and respliced and one was not hooked to anything. Is there anywhere I can find a wiring diagram to make sure I can re-wire the 3 way switch properly?
There are two red positive wires and two black negative wires coming from the two batteries (one black and one red from each battery) that go to a 4 prong plug. The opposite plug then goes to the three-way switch.
I do not know where the two pos and two neg from the four prong plug are attached to the switch and where the two red and one black for the trolling motor plug ar attached.
The tilt switch wires come from the motor controls and are not affected.
I have looked online, but apparently not in the right place. any help appreciated. I bought the boat last year and am the third owner.

First -- if the boat has a 24 volt motor that is NOT a combo 12/24 then why bother with the switch since it serves no purpose for you. Besides, combo 12/24 motors are going the way of the dinosaur. There are so many configurations the only way I would be able to help is if I saw pictures front and rear, the exact model of Minnkota you have, the wires that were cut, how the batteries are wired, how many wires run from the batteries to the panel (answer is three or four). See where this goes? You best bet is to contact Lowe Boats -- they built the thing.

Re: Wiring diagram for 12/24 charging panel

I apologize. I edited the original request before I saw the reply you had posted The trolling motor is a Minn-Kota MKAC, which minn-kota said was 24v 65lb thrust.
There are 4 wires going from the batteries (one red and one black from each battery) that go to the front of the boat where the panel is located.

Am I correct in assuming that if I do away with the switch, I could combine the Negative wires into one and attach it to the black wire on the plug, and then attach one red wire to the red wire on the plug and the other red wire to the orange wire on the plug?

No! Study this diagram carefully. Note that when you are done with the instructions that follow you will end up with only TWO wires (red and black) going up front. DO NOT CONNECT THE RED WIRE TO THE BATTERY UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO.

Your 24 volt motor only has two wires in the plug so you will not use the ORANGE terminal in the receptacle so it can be left connected where it is. Follow the black and red wires from the receptacle and disconnect them from wherever they go. Disconnect the two wires from ONE of the batteries. You will not use them. Then remove the black wire from the second battery and attach it to the NEGATIVE terminal on the battery from which you removed the two wires. Now fabricate a jumper (same size wire as the others) that will run from the POSITIVE terminal of the first battery to the NEGATIVE terminal of the second. DO NOT CONNECT THE RED WIRE YET. At the bow, connect the red wire from the battery to the red terminal on the trolling motor receptacle. Repeat for the black wire from the battery. NOW connect the red wire at the battery. You should now have 24 volts at the receptacle. Plug in the motor and go fishing. The batteries are now connected directly to the receptacle so the switches no longer perform any function nor do they need to.
