Yes it does have a charging system.

Welcome to iboats.

So, it won't start back up? Under what conditions?

Nothing?
Does the starter crank and spin the flywheel?
Does the power tilt work?

If the starter does not engage, check all wiring from battery to solenoid, to starter.
If the flywheel spins, I would start by checking For spark.
If you don't have spark, check the kill switch/safety lanyard.
Check the main fuse located on the board near the coils and rectifier.
Is the shifter in neutral?

Usually the ignition system on those 75 hp motors is pretty solid, unusual for it to just die.

If the flywheel spins, and you have spark:
Remove the sparkplugs and examine them, is there fuel on them? Are the cylinders flooded?

Have you tried starting the motor after letting it sit for a day or two?

I know, lots of questions, but have to narrow it down to wiring issue, ignition issue, fuel delivery issue, or engine compression issue.

Go outside right now, try to start it without ever charging the "dead" battery. If it starts, your starter is weak and dies when hot. If it does not, then have you rbattery load tested. Or just try your car battery in there and see if it does the same. that's what I would do, then report back and let us know please. Alot of eople have a problem like this and from what I have read someone makes a suggestion, and if its the right one no one ever reports back. Then any newbies like me have to guess if it was actually the correct diagnose, or if the person just got tired of messing with the boat. Welcome to the site!

Ok, so the starter will not spin the motor.
Check all connections.
Try a different battery just to be sure.

Then go with a new starter.

Aren't you glad you motored upriver, than paddled back down?

Sure beats motoring downriver, than trying to paddle upstream.
