First boat first project

HI Guys

I'm not sure bitten of more than i can chew with this project(1972 MFG 18' 115 Mariner Outboard).
I'm an electrician and so far my biggest problems are with the steering cable and the carburetors they seem to be clog when ever i prime it fuel drips from the top unit.

If you guys have any ideas or tips on what i need to get or use for cleaning up are all welcome .

Also i dont have any paper work for the trailer it dont have a vin # any ideas

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,....

For Help with your Motor, post in the Mercury/ Marina Outboard forum...

For the Steering,... I'd just go buy a New helm,+ cable set, with the related motor mounting hardware...
It's reasonably Cheap, boatwise,...

For the Trailer,... Ny is pretty Easy to just relicense it as Homemade...
Just go to the DMV,+ tell 'em you built it, get the forms, have it weighed,+ Pay the fees...
It'll be a 2010 Megatron769,+ the DMV will issue it's new serial #s...;)
