This is my first post here. I have been reading on here for a while now. Thanks in advance for any help.
My friend purchased a J25PL3SSB 2000 Johnson 25 Horse motor that was on a boat that was in a car accident. The motor was left hanging by the wiring. The officers cut all of the wiring and left the mounting bracket on the boat. The motor has power tilt/trim and has/had steering controls. From what I can tell, all of the wiring from the power pack will need replaced. We still have the plugs that go into the power pack. Additionally, the positive/ground wires were cut. These should be easy to replace. There's one other wiring cluster that was cut as well that we are unsure of it's purpose. The tilt/trim wiring was cut as well and we are unsure as to why on that one.
Where can I get info or parts to get this motor back up and going? I couldn't find the wiring harnesses or mounting bracket at http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=85e993be4bb1cb081c4fd4e5e64a52b0
We would like to switch to tiller handle if possible. Is this an option and what would we need to do?
