I'm considering putting my 9.9 on Ebay but have never shipped anything that big. Any advice on how to package it? Who to use (i.e. UPS)? Is there a flat shipping rate I can use?

Re: Shipping an outboard?

Freight I believe is the cheapest but a 9.9 is light enough for FEDEX and UPS

When I have sold and shipped small outboards on ebay (years ago) I cut two pieces of plywood and made a sideless box for the motor and had it banded. I went to a local warehouse and had the forklift guy band it for $5

You could probably check with your local marine dealers, they may have a shipping carton form a small motor that they would give you.

Wait a minute, was this a motor question in the no motor questions forum?
