Yeh its typically on the side, look for a hole in the side bracket, there should be a screw inside there, mine was filled with barnacles and hard to see.
Use an impact screwdriver to loosen it, they are usually in there very tight.
The valve is retained with a springclip, leave that and just loosen the screw a couple of turns, thats all you need.
