Yes LeeRoy has covered it very well. Bare in mind though this article is for 9.9's. I am not certain about a 35 HP. Hopefully someone more familiar with your engine will chime in here. You could look at the parts list and if yours has the same # of parts then I would think it would give you the confidence to go for it. You'll have to get your drive shaft cut and re-machined and I would guess you could cut the shift rod and re-thread it. Best of luck. Rick.
