I want to check the condition on my oil pump, on my 200hp from -84.
I have a workshop manual for my previous engine, a 130hp allso from -84, and it describes the following procedure:
Loosen the oil feed hose to cylinder no 1 and place it in a small container.
Remove the linkage between the throttle arm and the oil pump arm.
Turn the oil pump arm clockwise as far as possible.
Prepare a 2% oil/gas mixture and start the motor.
Run the engine on 1500rpm for 3 minutes and the turn it off.
Measure the oil in the small container, it should be 4,8 ccm. +/- 1,3 ccm.
Since the the motors are basically the same, just an extra pair of cylinders on the V6, I suppose this method works on the 200 aswell?
If so, how much oil should the pump deliver to the container?
