Just a regular old compression tester that screws into the spark plug hole. If you know how to do a check on a car, you know how to do it on an outboard. If you don't, write back and we'll help you out.
When you get results. if you aren't sure they're good, post back with make, model and year in the appropriate engine forum and folks there will help you decipher the numbers.
