Can some tell me where I would find the serial/model/chassis number for my old 7HP Sears outboard?
I'd like to do some work on it, but I need drawings and parts lists to order new parts.
Thanks

I have a 1966 McCullough 7.5 that was built for Sears. Mine has a plate that is riveted to the front of the engine down below and to the left of the engine cowling.

I've crawled all OVER this thing and can't find a plate or even the remnants of a plate (rivet holes etc)...

If you cant find a plate on it anywhere you might consider posting a couple of pictures of it. Someone may recognize it.

All of the 7hp Sears outboards were made by Eska. From about '69 to about '74.

Look for a number on the engine/powerhead. There could be a metal tag somewhere. If you can provide the Tecumseh engine number, I can tell you the year it was made. Any numbers you can find will help.

The biggest drawback for the 7hp models is that they used a special fuel connector for the external fuel tank. No longer available, I believe.
