Well as I've been warned the oil pump went out on my Merc Sport Jet 95xr 2 stroke (man I wish I switched to premix) Compression test shows nothing on the 1st cylinder, the other 2 seem ok. Mechanic said he could prob rebuild the 1st cyclinder - estimate around $1200. Is it worth it? It's performed great to this point. I want to get back on the water as cheap as possible, but if a few bucks more will get me a new motor/powerehead then maybe I should do that?

Early on in my research, not to educated on this currently - any help greatly appreciated!!

Oil injection will not cause a single cylinder to fail if it fails. More likely a a fuel, ignition or gasket problem. If you like the boat and its performance spend a extra $1000 and get a reman powerhead with year warranty.
