1996 48 SPL Johnson Very slow

My 48 SPL when we first start out the throddle is wide open and the is very slow less the 5mph after 15min or so it will kick in and hit top speed, We have had the boat of 3 years and has done this the hole time Please help driving us nuts. And what is the right gap for plugs Its a (javlin 1996 Waleye 15ft fiberglass type.)

It is running on one cylinder initially. When it gets warm enough the other one begins to make power.

I think you have a temp sensitive part in the ignition that won't work until heated up.

Put her in a test tank and fire her up. Use a hair dryer (NOT a heat gun) to warm the ignition parts you can reach. See if the second cylinder jumps in.

Replace the heat sensitive part.
