Cleaning the Aluminum Boat

I would like to remove the yellowish scum and grime of my aluminum hull. What is a good safe product to do so.

just did that, with cascade with dawn dishwasher soap, disolved in a bucket of water. used a broom to apply. boat looks like new.

You're supposed to clean boats? Who knew? I thought that crud was what they call "patina" on the Antiques Roadshow.

I'm pretty sure that stuff is what keeps my 46 year old tinny from leaking. That and the fish slime on the inside ;)
