I have new plugs, have checked the firing on each cylinder with index marks, checked total timing. etc motor runs fine above idle but it has a rough idle, will not die, it just that it shakes too much. I have tried spraying a little chemtool into the carbs with engine running and it bougs down, indicating proper fuel mixture and I have checked for vacume leaks but it still idles too rough. any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

have you cleaned and rebuilt the carbs? spraying into the carb, does not necessarily mean proper fuel mix. just means you flooded the engine. never spray any thing into a 2 stroke, except pre mixed fuel, and a decarbing agent.

I had a simmiliar problem on my Evinrude 50hp. Turned out to be the reed valves (on upper carb) were partially open. 3 of the 8 "fingers" were held open by debris. I took them off, cleaned, inspected, and reinstalled. Runs like a champ now. Have you altered any carbuerator linkages?
