Trim problems

Just finished getting this motor running and back on the boat. It has an external tilt and trim pump/motor, 4 lines going to the bottom. I put it back together and it'll go up but not down? I changed the two smaller lines around same thing. Should I swap the two larger lines? Each cylinder has 1 small and 1 large going to it.

Switching the lines won't make a difference.

Does the pump make a noise when it try's to go down?

When you say "you put it back together", do you mean the pump?

Ray, Some of those PTT units have two solenoids, and some have one. If you have two solenoids, check the one with the green wire on it, for power when you press the down button. Green is for down.

Also check the down switch to make sure it provides power to the green wire. Those switches can fail.
