Everything I have done to this outboard came form here and my best friend across the street who grew up on them. MOTOR 1963 18hp fast twin, I pulled the flywheel and didnt pay attention to how the plug wires were routed. I have tried afew ways but I am never satisfied with the slack in the far coil I am stumped, thankyou for any help

The front coil feeds the top cyl. It will probably have a metal band on it.

As for how they get from the mag plate to the plugs, they just kinda snake thru the side bracket (for either elect start or recoil) and around the throttle linkage and back to the plugs.

Wish I could describe it better, but probably a lot of trial and error.

If you decide to replace the coils and spark plug leads, it would be a good idea to take some photos of what you're about to take apart, so you'll be able to put it back together correctly. It's actually kinda funny, how the spark plug leads are routed under the armeture plate.:D
