Hello Out there,

I have a 1985, 85 hp chrysler outboard motor that will not start. I have fuel, all 3 plugs are firing, Ive checked the timing and the battery is good.... but it still wont start! It turns over, but never cranks. Can anyone please help me. What else can I check? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Signed,
My wife will kill me if I dont get it running soon!!

If you have a manual, I would go through the troubleshooting section. It will be alot cheaper if you can eliminate problems before replacing things. I unfortunately learned that the hard way.

"Outboard won't start" troubleshooting is in the Engine FAQs Forum, Welton.

Check that out and let us know what you find.

Good luck, and welcome to iboats. :)
