which plugs to use?

My motor is a 1994 johnson 120 2 stroke , Ive been using ql77jc4 plugs, my e/j dealer says that the book says to use ql16v surface gaps , my manual says to use the ql77,s whos right ? , this motor never trolls , and run it w/o when on the move ......thks , Leo

Plug chart says ql78yc....go with Champion, not equivalents.

The 77's were originally recommended but they updated it. I don't see any reason to run surface gaps.

QL-16v plugs were released to help with fouling due too excessive trolling.
Make sure your motor is warming up both sides
You can use QL-16v or QL-77JC4 or QL-78YC (latest recommendation)
Make sure your burning good oil.

Thks wayne, Seems I will try the 78.s now, even though this motor only runs at idle while tryin to find the "honey hole" , mostly its balls to the wall ..... thks Leo
