I bought a fourwinns 2002 5.0 vovlo gxi.i tried the boat out and it ran great brought it home and winter rized it.i drained all water and while it was down i put a new water pump in it and changed motor oil and filter and water sep. Filter.thats it and now you go to run it and after 4 to 5 min at 3/4 trottle and about 4500 rpm it shuts down to limp mold about 1500 rpm and sounds alarm.i have sent it to a marine they put new spark plug wires,distribure cap,plugs and thermostate. I got my boat back and still same thing i have pulled all water hoses and ran water through them and they are clear.any help please

Take the boat to a Volvo dealer (or someone) with a scan tool. Power reduction mode only happens because of lack of oil pressure or overheating (or bad sending units). The fault code will tell you which problem tigered the power reduction mode.

I just picked it up from a marine that said it did not give a code. They told me it would not give them one.so now i back to block one just trying one thing at a time but nothing has work yet.but thanks for your reply.do you know how i can test any of these things to see with ones bad.

Can u describe the alarm? Is it constant or a series of beeps?
