Trim & Tilt Problem 70HP

Hi

Had the engine on a pallet over winter, looks like may have lost some fluid in trim. Tried to refill but will not tilt and the trim rams seem to only move when they want. The motor sounds fine in both directions, is there a screw wich stops pumping each way and balance.?

The motor is an 1987 70HPPTT Evinrude

I can lift the motor manually, when I do this the trim rams extend, if enough weight is put on engine then motor operated the trim rams will retract, When using the button on the remotes

Any ideas or how to fill

Tilt motor all the way up and lock it there, open , fill, close. Unlock, lower motor all the way down. Now back up, lock, fill, close, lower. Repeat, repeat, repeat..

Use Dextrin II auto trans fluid, or power steering fluid.
