Hello everyone!
We have just purchased a boat which came with a 45 HP Chrysler outboard engine and I have some questions. From various sites and this forum I've managed to find out that my engine is most likely from 1976. I have some more questions which I have tried searching for and found some conflicting results, therefor I am seeking the advice of people with experience from this engine (or similar types).

1) In front of the two coils there are a connection block leading to the control unit. One is labeled "tacho", what kind of tacho do I need? The engine is a 2-stroke, 2-cylinder model. I've seen the tiny-tach ones, but would prefer a tachometer with an analog read out.
2) On the the connections is labeled "heat", what function does that have? I guess it is some kind of warning signal for overheating, but how do I find out if I have a light or signal fitted?
3) If I want to hook up a running light, where would I connect it to? Run a new cable to the battery box or hook it up to the control unit?
4) What possibilities are there for fitting an emergency kill-switch?
5) On the NGK website, there are two different recommendations:
45PS 1968-1984 BR6HS BR6HIX 0,8
45PS 1965-1967 BR6S 0,8

Which one should I choose for my engine?

Thanks advance for your help!
