I had my boat out this past weekend, and when i cranked the motor, there was a whinning noise when the starter was engaged. This was not a metal grinding sound as i have heard in automotive use, this was more like a high pitched whine. It seemed to crank up fine, and the engine ran with out any problems. There was just that extra noise.
I assume its the starter, should i plan on replacing it asap?
The boat is a 94 bayliner capri with 3.0L Mercruiser I/O
