need help seperating engine from out drive

I have a 24 foot angler 1978 with achevy 400, i have to replace the oil pan gasket and other stuff i have loosend everything and hvae about 1 inch space now but the engine will not break away from out drive.It is a volvo 280can i do it without taking off the outdrive.In advance thank you for your help.

Sounds like you are trying to remove the engine with drive in place?

If your boat has an outdrive, you have to pull it first before attempting to pull the engine. Otherwise, you will likely be needing a new coupler.

If you know what engine package you have, download the correct service manual for the egine and drive in the Adult's Only sticky at the top of the forum.
