Hey Everyone, I've got a '01 Johnson 150hp that starts great, idles perfect and just purr's when running up to 2500 rpm. When I try and open her up she just boggs down and won't get over 3000 rpm. If I rev it in neutral she'll crank to 44500/5000, I didn't want to rev it higher. Someone told me the carbs should be cleaned...any help? Thanks in advance, Ben

Don't ever run it above 2000 RPM with no load.

I would take there advice. Start with a good carb clean and check your high speed jets. There are plenty of good carb cleaning post on here. Just hit that Search button! Carb cleaning is the same process no matter which carb you have. Soak, Clean, Scrub, Dry, Repeat.
