1975 merc 165 starts when cold but not warm

ok so yesterday i took out my boat and its starts fine when its cold but when its warm the key doesnt want to start it i have to take a screwdriver and start it by the starter.

it starts up just fine with the screwdriver to the starter. it didnt want to start with the key for the rest of the day now i went out to the boat this morning and it starts up fine with the key
