the impeller is a yearly inspection item. it's not the easiest to go get, not the worst either. but if yer gonna be working on your boat, ya might as well get yer trusty service manual and your tools out and go get it yourself. if you don't understand something. post up your question here and many folks would just love to help ya out. imho the alpha1 impellers are most fragile. never run w/o water. i've been R&Ring my impeller yearly. they always look somewhat worn (permanently curled and cracked on inside of blades). it is also one of the more important items that will keep you engine running in the proper temp range.
