Since I'm still dried dock putting finishing touches on the boat my friends are catching plenty of Cod and Haddock out on Stellwagon Bank just twelve miles off shore. We have some of the riches fishing grounds in the country. Also just a couple miles off our shore starts Jefferies Ledge that goes for many miles with its deep crevices and shallow ridges holds an abundance of fish.

Mackerel should be arriving around Mother's Day bringing foraging striped bass in the 30-50lb. class close to shore. The striped bass that summer here through October come from the Cheasapeake Bay area and also from the Hudson River.

Flounder fishing is just starting in and around our harbor, they make a great meal at the dinner table.

With the upswing cycle of plenty of sand eels around the humpback whales are putting on a show as they feed on these tiny fish. Depending where the eels are the humpbacks could be a couple miles off shore or 30 miles from shore.
