Having problems. Help would be appreciated.
Motor will run fine about 30mph 4000rpm try to go above and it misses and dies if I let off soon enough it will stay running about 4000.
Changed plugs, wires, rebuilt carbs drained fuel, replaced fuel filter, and lines.

I would check the link and sync.
Make sure the throttle plates match up when its WOT ( full open).

It could also be starving for fuel at WOT, have you tried pumping the primer or choke when it starts to quit?

Have not tried pumping the ball or choke while doing it. Does this motor have a fuel pump, what kind of pressure should I have.

One sign of leaking head gasket is a steam cleaned piston and spark plug that looks brand new compared to the others.

A compression test will show it.

You mentioned a fuel filter, if its external to the engine bypass it for now, it could be impeding fuel flow. The only external filter recommended is a water seperator.

Hitting the choke or pumping the bulb will show whether its starving for fuel at 4K rpm.
