I have a 1972 merc 800 that is looping and will kill at idle speed. If it is at fast idle it won't kill but still loops. I just replaced the water pump because I took it to the lake and it ran for 4 to 5 min with no water cooling I think. Could this be a blown head gasket from overheating? Also is 50:1 the correct fuel ratio?

Ayuh,... I think it's not getting it's Fuel properly...

It Can't be the Headgasket,...
That motor Doesn't have a Head,... hence, No headgasket...
