70 hp chysler weep holes or freeze plug holes

I have a 1975 chrysler 70 hp motor and noticed the other day while getting it prepped for summer that i was leaking foamy oil out of the lower unit from a tiny hole just under the lower unit fill plug. Anyone know what those holes are there for? Didn't know if they were for freeze plugs or if it's a weep hole for the water pump?

I had the same thing happen. I forget where the holes lead too. I got a complete lower unit seal rebuild kit, I am hoping that the problem goes away.

I have a 70 also, but it is a 1973 model. Not sure if there is that much difference or not.
